Hello - I live in central New Mexico and have a very healthy young peach tree. The tree went crazy last year, it had lots of flowers and thick healthy leaves. I'm planning on pruning it this weekend and I've done lots of research on the best way to get that done. But now I'm wondering about dormant spraying of pesticides. I know that the peach borer is a huge peach tree killer and we do have it in this state. Can anyone recommend a good preventative pesticide and where to get it?

What is a good gift to send to an elderly couple in a nursing home?
I always send my great aunt and great uncle, in their 90's, flowers for every holiday (I live 2 states away from them). I'd love to send them something besides flowers but I'm not sure what is appropriate.

I agree with the pictures. Be sure to put labels on the back typed in big font who everyone is (and maybe is descended from) and where the picture is taken. Size 4 x 6 pictures at least and maybe include a magnifying glass although they probably already have one. Or a box like an old lidded box that's hinged to hold them and future pictures.
You are a very thoughtful person to be sending them presents!! They are lucky people!

I recognize that going somewhere "2 states away" is a considerable task, but you'd earn your berth in heaven if you did. It wouldn't have to be this Christmas, because everybody is so busy, but you could write them a letter and say, Dear Aunt and Uncle, We plan to visit you at Easter (or in the summer) or whenever you could. It would give them something to look forward to and believe me, you will never, ever regret it.

I bought seeds for these flowers.. They both state zones 3-8. I am in zone 10.. Does anyone grow these flowers in Southern California? How well do they do?

it should not be bad to grow them but because of the heat of the sun and weather you will need to plant them in a partly shaded area (however the sun does need to be on them at some point thru the day, just not all day.
also you need to have a very ventilated soil and you need to water them constantly or they will dry up and die.

Ive grown Delphinium for a few years; and have seen Larkspur often here in Los Angeles. I am also in Zone 10 (Santa Monica/Bev Hills area). You do have some challenges - mostly being heat and the dryness. But, I agree with the other poster - if you can keep the plants on a cooler side of a building or in very partial shade, then the plants will do better. Just make sure they never dry out - yet, keep from ever becoming waterlogged. Watch out for the excessive slugs/snails around here. And, keep the flowers cut off once they are done blooming.

If you have a lot of stuff growing already and shady spots that would mimick cooler temperature zones you might be able to grow them. Call a nursery in your town and ask them what you need to do to grow them.

MY wedding is going to be a themed wedding. The theme is WILD WEST. Like from the movie Tombstone. I am excited and we haven't set the date but I am looking for help in what kind of flowers are good for this kind of wedding. I have noticed that this is going to be harder than I thought due to the fact that I live in Florida and it is more of a Beach wedding kind of state. Beaches are not for me. So if you have some suggestions... please let me know.

They asked his grandfather about converting his unused barn into a wedding and reception venue. She wore a western cut wedding dress. He wore a western cut suit. They didn't have any attendants. Her daddy is a preacher, and he married them. :) Their whole wedding cost less then $3500.00. They spent their honeymoon on a camping trip in montana.

Back then they did not have fancy bouquets. They simply gathered some wildflowers the day of the ceremony and carried them. Perhaps you can tie them with a think silk ribbon, but I would leave it at that.
