Why was the Arizona Saguaro Cactus chosen as the state flower?

Because it is indigenous and beautiful....I cannot imagine any other reasons being needed

Why was the Arizona Saguaro Cactus chosen as the state flower?
Probably because Arizona is one of the the only states where the saguaro cactus grows naturally. The flower is very pretty and fragrant.

"Arizona’s state flower, the blossom of the saguaro cactus, was probably chosen because the saguaro cactus is so unique. The saguaro is the largest cactus in the world and the only place they 'naturally' grow is within 150 miles of Phoenix-Scottsdale, Arizona."
Reply:most flowers are chosen because they grow there or they are only grown there...the cactus is actually beautiful and a picture cannot do it justice...
