Hello! Pennsylvania State Project!?

My daughter who is in the fourth grade has a project due soon. She has to make (8) eight items that reference the state of Pennsylvania. I have about four ideas i.e. chocolate covered strawberries (Hersey Chocolate), liberty bell made out of a flower pot, the Consitution written on old paper, and finally a T-Shirt that has something like “Pennsylvania Independence State”.

Any more ideas would be so appreciated! Thank you!

Hello! Pennsylvania State Project!?
How about a bottle of Heinz ketchup? Research famous Pennsylvanians and do something with that, off the top of my head, Louisa May Alcott is from PA, so what about taking in a copy of her book "Little Women"? Another great person is Andy Warhol who really impacted the world of art. Perhaps you could find a reprint of one of his famous works, or have your daughter make her own interpretation of it. Betsy Ross is also from PA, so perhaps your daughter could make her own American Flag (I'm thinking out of felt would be the easiest). Taking in the state flag (or a picture of) is always a thought. Something unique is to bring in the state flower (Mountain Laurel), depending on where you are this may pose a problem, however, you'd be surprised what most florists can ship in if you have an adequate time frame (or have her draw her own!). The movie "Angels in the Outfield" was based and filmed in Pittsburgh, so perhaps you could take in the DVD or even show a short clip. (Other movies were filmed there too, but I thought that movie might be the most age appropriate). You could also do a collage of sports pictures from the teams in Pennsylvania- Steelers, Penguins, Pirates, Eagles, Phillies, Flyers, 76-ers. How about a recipe that originated in Pennsylvania? Shoofly Pie from Pennsylvania Dutch comes to mind, but you can probably find more with some research. Well, I think I'm out of ideas for now, hopefully this helps!
